Block Paving

Give your property real kerb appeal with our range of block paving. With a variety of styles & finishes available, we’re sure to have the right block paving for the job.

What is block paving and what is it used for?

Block paving is a type of cuboid-shaped paving brick, specifically made for driveways. These driveway pavers are designed to be much thicker and stronger than normal paving slabs, so you can park your car without worrying about any cracks or breakages appearing in the bricks.

Paving blocks aren’t just functional, either. A beautifully paved driveway not only enhances a home's kerbside appeal, but it also gives you the chance to show off your creative flair.

It is important to note, however, that while all of our driveway block paving is made from concrete, it cannot be used interchangeably with concrete paving slabs. These thinner paving slabs should only be used for patios as they are not thick enough to support the weight of vehicles on a driveway.

What types of block pavers do you supply?

Simply Paving’s collection of block paving caters to any size, style and function of the driveway.

For example, you can throwback to the rustic cobbles of a traditional country cottage setting with our Charcon Europa Block Paving in Burnt Oker. Or, if you prefer a more modern motif, opt for our Bradstone StoneMaster Block Paving in Light Grey – perfect for showing off your avant-garde style to your neighbours.

We also provide driveway block pavers that differ in more than just attractive aesthetics. Our permeable block paving range, for instance, reduces the risk of flooding by allowing rainwater to pass directly into a sub-base, rather than sitting in unsightly puddles on your driveway. These practical paving blocks are not only great for the environment, but they also save you the hassle of gaining planning permission from the council to install your driveway.

Alternatively, if you’re paving an area that frequently sees traffic or you need to park a heavier than a normal vehicle, then you may need to opt for heavy duty block paving. These extra thick block pavers are specially designed to support heavy vehicle traffic, while still boasting a stunning finish.

Which block paving sizes are available?

Our collection of driveway pavers offers many different block paving shapes and sizes, each with their own distinct look and feel.

The classic ‘brick’ style, sized at 200x100x60mm, is a very popular choice for every type of driveway. Their identical brick sizes ensure laying versatility across a number of eye-catching block paving patterns – a simple and affordable way to transform the outside of your home.

For example, our Bradstone Driveway Block Paving, can be laid in a traditional herringbone paving pattern or in a neater, more contemporary stack bond paving pattern – two style choices that imbue immediate character. Find out more about these intricate designs, and how to achieve them, by reading our in-depth guide to block paving patterns.

You can also lay your block pavers in a mixture of square and rectangular blocks, which best suits the handcrafted vibes of traditional set ups. Double down on this much-desired aesthetic by opting for the subtle hues and realistic weather worn appearance of our Bradstone Monksbridge Block Paving in Croft. Each pack of this stylish block paving contains four sizes (250x150mm, 200x150mm, 150x150mm and 100x150mm) so you can always find the right fit for your driveway.

Which block paving colours do you stock?

With Simply Paving, you can pave your driveway in a kaleidoscope of different shades, hues and finishes.

For those who want to seamlessly blend their driveway with the rest of the neighbourhood, you cannot go wrong with grey paving blocks, such as with our Monksbridge Block Paving in Grey-Green. These understated pavers effortlessly complement any aesthetic you might have in mind for the front of your home.

If you want to lean into a more traditional look, however, we recommend opting for a rustic colour palette. We’re talking block paver hues, such as Autumn, Burnt Oker and Woodland, that bring calming natural tones to your driveway project – perfect when paired with a grass front garden.

Or, if you desire a more contemporary style, try our driveway paving blocks in more dramatic, darker shades. Both our Monksbridge Block Paving in Cinder and Lumley Cobble Block Paving in Stone tick the box in this respect, offering a bold finish for the front of your home.

How much does block paving cost?

Here at Simply Paving, we offer block pavers to suit any size of budget you have in mind for your dream driveway project.

Our more affordable driveway blocks start from £20.99 per m2, such as with our Bradstone Block Paving – but don’t let the cheaper price tag put you off. These paving blocks are the same high quality that you’ve come to expect from all our products, offering you a stunning, highly durable driveway that will continue to look good for years to come.

At the other end of the scale sits our Bradstone StoneMaster Block Paving range, which starts from £36.99 per m2. Not only do these driveway pavers look the part, recreating the appearance of natural stone, but they have also been pre-treated with Bradstone Surface Protection, which helps to protect against everyday stains, such as oil, grease and bird droppings. Certainly worth the extra few quid!
